For years people have been rumouring about whether or not Jay Z and Rihanna had a thing and whether or not Rihanna had anything to do with what when down in that elevator.
There’s an unauthorised biography about Beyonce that’s come out called Becoming Beyonce and the author, J Randy Taraborrelli, claims to have finally solved the mystery. You hear the combination Beyonce + Rihanna + unauthorised biography and you think this is going to be some good sh-t, right?
Well.
According to Taraborrelli, the Rihanna Jay Z business?
“It was total fiction,” the author told “Entertainment Tonight,” claiming a publicist concocted the tale to boost Rihanna’s career (back in 2005). But, “Beyoncé didn’t know what to make of this, and it actually ended up breaking them up for a time. They spent maybe a year apart from each other because Beyoncé just wasn’t sure of what to make of the situation with Rihanna.”
So basically, they wanted you to think he was with her…but he wasn’t with her. Beyonce didn’t want to participate though, so, really, this version of the story kinda actually makes her look good.
Taraborrelli goes on to stress that Bey and RiRi are all good:
“It’s safe to say that Rihanna and Beyoncé are friends.”
But Rihanna could still have been sort of involved in the elevator:
“People told me that there was a whispered argument that night having to do with Jay wanting to go to a party [for] Rihanna,” Taraborrelli said. “Beyoncé did what Beyoncé does. She laid down the law . . . it was a whispered married couple’s argument that would’ve gone by completely unnoticed had not Solange overheard it.”
Like I said, on a gossip level, it’s pretty deflating. I mean if it’s really about Rihanna… what about this?

I’m not a mother but I am a woman, and I am very familiar with a woman’s resentment, especially when that woman has a giant ego.
Like all gossips, I wanted this book to bring it. But is that the best you got?
The Carters were on Broadway last night for Hamilton. Beyonce wore an orange/red velvet pantsuit and obviously didn’t have time to change her bad hair from the other night.
