But let’s get serious first, for real, no fooling. T-Pain is back. Without auto-tune. He tells Vulture that he struggled with depression for a while because of the criticism he received when the auto-tune movement began. Now though, he’s releasing new music…without auto-tune. The interview is interesting on several levels. First, obviously, his perspective about how the industry has changed, even in the short time from the height of his success to where we find ourselves now. And also because…

There was going to be some unreleased Aaliyah vocals on his album but instead, the vocals will be used on HER new album, Aaliyah X.
THE FINAL AALIYAH ALBUM IS COMING SOON.
And that’s not the only information that he drops. When asked about what artists he’s into right now, Pain namechecks FKA twigs. So…will they be working together?
T-Pain:
Well, the first time we even met each other, we met in the studio. Her music’s changed a lot since then. But she’s on tour so much, and anytime I call her, she’s in a different place. And she’s engaged now, so that’s about to be a whole other thing. [Laughs.]
Vulture:
Wait, she’s engaged? That's news to me.
T-Pain:
Yeah, to ol’ Patty [Robert Pattinson]. I don’t know if she wanted anybody to know that …
The interview likely took place before today. So it might not be an April Fool’s joke.
