Dear Gossips,

On Friday, Glastonbury announced its lineup for this year’s festival. They put the poster up on Twitter, the headliners listed top row. From left to right, it’s The Killers, The Cure, Stormzy, Kylie, and Janet Jackson.  Read Full Intro

Dear Gossips,

The Juno Awards happened last night in Canada. These are our Grammys, a showcase of Canadian talent, much of which, as you have seen if you live outside Canada, has had undeniable global impact – and in many cases, the support begins at home.  Read Full Intro

Taylor Swift walked the carpet at the iHeartRadio Awards last night without giving interviews because that’s her thing now. It’s also a status thing. The big ones can breeze in, take some photos, and bypass the press line. Katy Perry doesn’t have that option though. As one of the judges on American Idol, she has to be out there talking, being interviewed, promoting the show. Full Story

I still don’t get why people are trying to believe in a Lady Gaga-Bradley Cooper romance. Like, separate from shipping their characters in A Star is Born. That people fell for those characters and their chemistry is one thing. Scammers, as we’ve seen this year, are having a moment. That momentum continues with The Boy Band Con: The Lou Pearlman Story, the satisfying documentary about the late fraudster mogul who discovered Backstreet Boys, *NSYNC, Aaron Carter, O-Town, LFO, and most of your favourite 90s and early aughts pop musicians from the TRL era. Full Story

This post is a cheat: I could link to it in What Else? but I want to give it its own space. It deserves its own space but also…it’s so perfect all by itself – the choices, the writing, the layout, all of it – that it doesn’t need me writing on top of it. So I’m cheating it by lifting a point out of the package that isn’t actually the highlight of the package at all. Full Story

Last week, Taylor Swift wrote a piece for ELLE UK about pop music. This week she covers American ELLE, once again in her own words, because like Beyoncé before her, Taylor isn’t doing interviews anymore. Full Story

Dear Gossips,

I woke up this morning to see Solange trending on Twitter, exactly what we need to coast into the weekend. When I Come Home is the follow-up to the Grammy-winning album A Seat at the Table, the best work of her career to that point, released in 2016.  Read Full Intro

Tired of listening to “Party for One” yet? I’m kidding, that’s impossible, but nevertheless, our beloved Queen of Bops has graced us with not one, but TWO new surprise singles! We don’t deserve her. Yesterday, Carly Rae Jepsen released “Now That I Found You” and “No Drug Like Me” and my song repeat count for them has already reached double digits. Full Story

Blair, our production coordinator at The Social, just walked into my office while I was watching Lady Gaga on Jimmy Kimmel last night. He raised his eyebrows, and I told him that “the A Star is Born Oscar campaign is still happening and the Oscars were four days ago”.  Lady Gaga was on Kimmel to promote A Star is Born. Full Story
