The film is likely Nocturnal Animals. Tom Ford is directing. Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams are the leads. Not a sh-tty project to be involved in. So is this a pep talk? A pep embrace? Whatever it is, it’s intense, and I’m into it. Because I’m so into them.

As we’ve seen, the Taylor-Johnsons have been selective about their work the last few years. That’s how they’ve stayed so strong, I think. Sam, as you know, was not interested in returning for more Christian Grey. She’s still looking for her next project. I was hoping it would be the film adaptation of Paula Hawkins’s The Girl On The Train but Tate Taylor (The Help) got that job. How about Luckiest Girl Alive? Reese Witherspoon acquired the rights and it’s in line with the Gone Girl trend that we’ve seen gain popularity the last few years. Maria reviewed the book a few months ago – click here to read it. She didn’t love it and I thought it was uneven too. But it’s definitely cinematic. And with a female director who understands female secrets and ambition and motivation, this has so much potential to be a provocative, complicated, and controversial film.
