Charli XCX is the host and musical guest this Saturday on Saturday Night Live and… I can’t wait. Like I was already excited when she was announced but then they dropped the promo and, well, this is exactly the kind of energy I was expecting.
It’s the aggressive IDAF. It’s the challenge in her eyes. She’s an eyeroll personified but not because she thinks she’s so cool but because she has no time for people who try to be. And, of course, whatever “brat” is. What does brat SNL look like? I have no idea, but I’m excited to see how the show lives up – or down – to it. And, sometimes, in this case especially, “down” might actually end up being a wonderful… disaster? I don’t know, that’s the point! It’s live TV, it’s unpredictable, and she’s the right kind of guest to keep you guessing.
During Charli’s week in New York, she’s secured several Grammy nominations while in the process serving looks. Charli works with stylist Chris Horan and the outfits they’ve produced over the last few days are fashion forward, perfectly suited to her, and chic AF.
This black jumpsuit is excellent.
The boot game here? Come on. On anyone else that thick carpet cardigan she’s wearing is a high degree of difficulty. She turns it into something punk rock and subversive.

Speaking of the boot game, Sarah protested against the denim jorts a few weeks ago. I respectfully disagree, I’ve been wearing them through the fall, I love them so much and look at them on Charli under that coat, a tank… and those f-cking denim topped boots, come ON!

But the best of the week has to be the McQueen – vintage skirt on the bottom, pirate shirt on top, belted, booted, swagger, slay.

It’s giving…XCX by way of an Xtina throwback, a little, right?
