I have surprised myself because I never could have predicted that Rita Ora would be the OOTW but here we are, after a week of all red looks, with the Rita style appreciation because, really, the fits were appropriately fire.
Rita is promoting Descendants: The Rise of Red and her press wardrobe wasn’t just about the title of the film but also her character, the Queen of Hearts. I saw the film last week because I covered the junket and her costumes as the Queen of Hearts are also spectacular. At one point she does the school first day drop-off (her daughter in the film is the title character, Red, played by Kylie Cantrall) in a gold choker and the most over-the-top gown, a total serve.
Anyway, here are some of Rita’s red highlights. Starting with this strong-shoulder fitted dress overlaid with plastic squares, nice touch with the heart earrings. (Note from Emily: Kerry Washington wore this dress last month at Tribeca and Lainey loved it on her, too)

Speaking of hearts, her sleeves make a heart in this jacket dress, it’s a great look, but in this weather it requires air conditioning and a lot of wind.
Same goes for the leather suit. Here’s another example of the celebrity style advantage – they have temperature privilege as looks that regular degular scmegulars like us would avoid seasonally are not a thing for them because they can just move from one cool spot to the next with only small heat intervals in between.
These are my two favourites, though. First a matching set, with the chain around the neck and the side zippers, the fit of the pants… you know what this is giving? To me it’s giving Lewis Hamilton. You can never go wrong if you’re invoking Lewis Hamilton.
And finally, this sick leather jacket with the belt collar but look closely, can you see the stitching? It’s quilted in hearts. Rita Ora with the red hot win streak of the week.
