Michael B Jordan showed up at the premiere of Amazon’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power the other night. As far as I know, he’s not in the series, but his production company, Outlier, does have a deal with Amazon so I’m guessing he was there because it’s good business for him.
That’s not the kind of business I want to talk about where he’s concerned though. Because right now I’m curious about his business. As in his personal life.
MBJ and Lori Harvey broke up at the beginning of the summer. Since then, Lori has been out here living her hot girl summer and showing off a great denim game. Reportedly he was the one who wanted to take their relationship to the next level and she’s not about that life, at least not yet. Neither one has confirmed that this was indeed the reason but… you can tell, right? Because the Photo Assumption on this, at least from my vantage point, is the proof.
You know how we talk about “revenge dresses” or “revenge bodies” in the culture it’s almost always about women? Remember Princess Diana’s infamous “revenge dress”? Revenge dressing, conventionally, is to go tighter and shorter. MBJ is showing us that it’s not just women who subscribe…
Because look at him. The sleeves are off. The guns are out. The pecs are flexing. The top is snug. And I feel like it’s been like this since the split. Tank tops and tight shirts. I’m not mad about it. Who could possibly be mad at it?
But my point is that dudes revenge dress too. Dudes thirst trap about breakups too. Look what you’re missing…is that the message MBJ is sending?
