Dear Gossips,

Is TNT getting married at MSG?

That’s the latest Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce wedding rumour, courtesy TMZ reporting on Friday that it’s happening on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, where over 1000 people will be in attendance. There’s been some follow-up speculation that this won’t be their actual ceremony, just a welcome event …or something.

But the point is, this is what people are now talking about and/or debating – whether or not MSG will host the TNT wedding, even though right now I’m pretty sure that nobody at MSG gives a sh-t about the wedding because the Knicks are up two games to none against the Spurs in the NBA Finals after two huge wins (the game on Friday night was batsh-t) on the road, and as big of a deal as Taylor is, not even she is big enough to make New Yorkers care about much else.

The speculation, however, is also accompanied by a lot of skepticism. Madison Square Garden… really? The word that keeps coming up is “tacky”. Not that Taylor Swift is the paragon of elite taste but MSG, even with all its privacy advantages, screams “I want this to be a spectacle” … of the Kardashian kind. And as I have said before, so much of the gossip around this wedding so far has been giving Kardashian PR thirst. And that’s why it’s being side-eyed.

For months we’ve been wondering whether or not Taylor’s been sending out fake news to throw off the media and this MSG thing might be the biggest diversion. That said, would TMZ fall for it? Not saying that TMZ is the bulwark of journalism, LOL, but they’re also not the Daily Mail either so I have to assume they weren’t just taking this from a rando and that they must have had partial reason to think this tip was good enough to run. Or, if we want to go deeper into conspiracy, maybe they’ve made a deal with Taylor to release the red herrings in exchange for an exclusive that would be worth the compromise?

What is the Occam’s Razor in this situation? What is the most obvious and simple explanation? That TNT would actually have a Kardashian wedding? Or that Taylor’s toying with the media?
