This weekend in TNT wedding speculation reminded me of a Taylor Swift song lyric from a track off 1989, my favourite out of all her albums. It’s this line from “I Know Places”:

“Baby I know places we won't be found and…

They'll be chasing their tails trying to track us down”

Tails and tight ends, I guess that really is the theme of this post. So we’ll start with the tails who might be getting played by Taylor’s head games. That’s how it’s felt the last few days as wedding anticipation has intensified – and it’s not like the media’s been calm about it, not for months. But for all the outlets that claimed to know what will happen and when it will happen, they’re sounding unsure AF right now, including TMZ.

Just before the weekend, TMZ was casing out Taylor’s estate in Rhode Island, reporting on the fact that several of her friends were there and that it either could be a bachelorette or the actual wedding proper, since they were also locked in on a tent that was put up at a separate venue just down the road. That tent was for a wedding that had nothing to do with Taylor, and by Saturday morning Taylor’s Rhode Island home seemed to be vacated. Even though TMZ and Page Six have been blaring out on a weekly basis their claims about the wedding and Madison Square Garden, suddenly their positioning is sounding a lot more uncertain. The MSG event has gone from “it is the ceremony” to “it might be a celebration/party” to… “oh, it’s possible it’ll be Rhode Island” … to “we’ll keep you posted!”

No one loves making her own lyrics come true more than Taylor Swift. If this is what she’s doing, making them chase their tails trying to track her and Travis down, she should be nominated for an Emmy for best docuseries.

Now to the ends…

After spending several days with his brother and her brother, and other close friends, seemingly on a bachelor weekend, Travis is currently in Nashville presiding over Tight End University. Taylor joined him at the welcome event yesterday.

It’s worth noting that the only footage I’ve seen of her there is on the official TE University social channels, so her comings and goings are well protected. Tonight is the Tight End & Friends Concert. She’s performed there before… so it’s possible she could make an appearance and perhaps sing her new hit, “I Knew It, I Knew You”, from the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, which is the #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100 for the second week in a row and of course she wants more.

And now we’re 10 days out from July 3, which is when she and Travis are supposed to be getting married, just in time for Independence Day weekend in the United States and two days after Canada Day. The reason I mention this is because whatever happens on July 3 or 4 or even a couple of days before or after (hopefully nothing – since that would mean she clowned the tabloids), our team will be resting. TNT getting married is wonderful news, all the happiness to them… and what better way to celebrate their happiness than to not interrupt our own!
