YES to Maisie Williams in this structured/deconstructed set. There is structure in the shape, the way the skirt is holding that flare. The deconstruction comes with the fray – I really like how the edges are so chaotic against such so many traditional style elements and conventional lines. An outfit that is both yin and yang. Met Gala in a week and the Queen of the Met Gala, Rihanna, seems to be managing our expectations. As you know, we always wait for Rihanna – she is always late, so yeah we’re used to waiting for her until the very end because she’s worth it. Rihanna at the Met Gala will never disappoint. Rihanna will be attending this year, but it also sounds like she’s taking the year off, in a way, because she’s describing her outfit as “chill”. And she’s not trying to be coy, she has a good reason for being “chill” about the look. Do you believe her? I believe her. But I also believe that Rihanna’s “chill” is still going to gag us. No surprise here – the algorithm is killing creativity, in this case a show by Bob Odenkirk and David Cross as their idea was turned down because the algorithm was saying nobody cared. But also WHOSE algorithm? Is that another part of the issue? Is that some algorithms are valued more than others? (Pajiba)

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be on the move in May. First a trip to London which, I’m sure, the British tabloids will love but claim to hate. And then they’re heading to Nigeria because they’ve been invited there by the nation and the British tabloids will DEFINITELY hate this because, well, Nigeria seems to want the Sussexes…and not the others. I really enjoyed the “3 Tickets to Challengers please” meme that was viral over the weekend. And Kathleen and I, like children, burst into giggles when a girl and two guys walked into our theatre and sat in front of us. And watched the movie like decent people instead of filming it the whole time, ffs! (The Mary Sue)
