Michael B Jordan in Creed II

Kathleen Posted by Kathleen at November 23, 2018 21:24:37 November 23, 2018 21:24:37

It’s going to be impossible for me to put aside my bias to write this review. My dog’s name is Apollo Creed. My big brother and I would watch Rocky marathons all day until our parents forced us to go do our homework or something more productive than yelling “Adrian!” at each other for hours and pretending to run up the “Rocky Steps”. Full Story

Michael B Jordan is in Toronto today promoting Creed II. He is not coming on our show and I have to be at work instead of casually showing up where he’ll be and initiating my 9-step “Casual Run-in With MBJ, Make Him Fall in Love with Me” plan so I don’t want to talk about Michael Bae Jordan Full Story

Creed II is the good stuff

Sarah Posted by Sarah at September 26, 2018 20:21:19 September 26, 2018 20:21:19

The first trailer for Creed II just dropped and Kathleen is too busy to watch it. This is her nightmare. No one loves Michael B. Jordan as much as she does, and this trailer is basically two minutes of shirtless, glistening MBJ as he says things like, “We’re a team now,” which I imagine Kathleen hears as being spoken directly to her. Full Story

Adonis Creed Returns

Sarah Posted by Sarah at June 20, 2018 16:31:04 June 20, 2018 16:31:04

In 2015, Creed was a surprise. Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan, coming off Fruitvale Station, reinvigorated the Rocky franchise by making it about not only a new generation, but a new culture, passing the title and the franchise not to Rocky’s son but to Apollo Creed’s. Full Story

It’s the season of giving. And that endless Hollywood Predator Advent Calendar keeps giving and giving and giving.  Yesterday it was revealed that Senator Al Franken, who used to be a writer and performer on Saturday Night Live, kissed and groped radio news anchor Leeann Tweeden while she was sleeping during an overseas USO tour in 2006. Full Story

Gossip is fueled by girl sh-t and boy sh-t. It’s the best sh-t. This is my favourite story to come out of the Golden Globes. This story has everything: pettiness, ego, manners, beards, and dramatic exits. And it involves multiple celebrities. According to PEOPLE Full Story

The Academy’s Governors Awards happened this weekend. Many actors who are contenders for this year’s Oscar race had to show up, out of respect for the Academy, to make sure to be noticed by the Academy, so as to be nominated by the Academy, but pretending to be recognising the recipients of this year’s Honourary Oscars, including Jackie Chan Full Story

Sylvester Stallone: the Oscar snub

Mark Rylance is a well-respected actor and he was the only part of Bridge Of Spies that was remotely interesting because let’s face it, the film was boring and the only reason why it even got invited was SPIELBERG. Without taking anything away from Mark’s talent though, he won because the Academy didn’t want Sylvester Stallone to win. Full Story

Ryan Coogler for Grownups

While Sly Stallone was celebrating his Oscar nomination, his director, Ryan Coogler, who was not recognised by the Academy, was at the AARP Awards as Creed was named Best Intergenerational Movie. How’s that for diversity? He not only gave us a new Rocky, with a black future, but also represented maturity – which is not typically a treasured quality in Hollywood. Full Story
