Timmy’s family date

Some of those rumoured Met Gala guest lists that I’ve been referring to the last few days – it’s worth remembering that it’s speculation, that apart from the co-chair and host committee members, no one is confirmed and there for sure will be a few who don’t show up. Zendaya, for example, is not going and she keeps showing up on the lists.

Also one of the names on many of the lists is Timothée Chalamet, because he’s a fashion boy and dating a Met Gala regular. But even though it might seem like Timmy is a Met Gala regular himself, he’s actually only ever been once, when he was a co-chair. So if history is any indication, Timmy won’t be there tonight, and there’s another very good reason why he’ll skip it: the Knicks have home court advantage and will host game one of the NBA Eastern Conference Semi-Finals against the 76ers at Madison Square Garden. These two teams have their own heated rivalry, this series is a grudge match, so I can’t imagine Timmy would pass on a courtside seat given his devotion.

As for his devotion to Kylie, though, well he already made it that much more public this weekend when he joined her, Kim, Kendall, and Kris at a performance of The Fear of 13 on Broadway. Kim is one of the play’s producers so this was a family outing, you might say Timmy’s presence was part of the promotion. Just to make sure social media doesn’t bark up any dead trees tonight if and when Kylie attends the Met Gala without him.

While Kylie might not have a date tonight, chances are better that Kim will not be riding solo. Lewis Hamilton, after all, is often at the Met Gala, even when he’s just coming off a race. Even when he’s just coming off a disappointing race, which is what happened yesterday at the Miami Grand Prix. Will Lewis and Kim walk together or apart?

Kim was in vintage Dior to see the play, from 1997, designed by John Galliano, his take on the cheongsam. As usual she finds a way to ruin it with the most heinous pair of shoes.
